BD2159HS x 1 metre lengths. A great solution to many body shut gap fitting problems!

This seal is the same external size and shape as the traditional  Jaguar D-Shape extrusion section, BD2159, but this version has a void in the centre allowing it to be far more compressed, in fact to a min. of about 4mm thickness with a good slam.

Many panel beaters and rebuilders choose to narrow door and boot gaps beyond original specs, forgetting that after filler / lead and many layers of paint is applied, the gaps can be far narrower. This can mean boots, doors and other fittings may require further rework, even if they came off that body shell.

It comes with self adhesive backing, for easy fit into any reasonable gap that you require sealing, so it is not just for replacing standard BD2159.

NOTE : Our experience shows that this is common when custom rebuilding a steel & aluminium body set onto a rigid chassis. Gaps adjusted to what coach-builders feel are finer / reduced tollerance or 'modern door and boot gaps' cause later problems as body shells do settle, doors do drop and sprung panels do cause distortions later on. Many panel shops never get to see the problems caused by this at final fit, when the restorer is trying to fit correct seals and external fittings.

This seal is very popular by those 'in the know'. A real 'Get Out Of Jail Card' solution!

ADDITIONAL NOTE : OUR TEST PHOTO SHOWS IT WILL EASILY COMPRESS TO 5.6mm THICKNESS, AND IT WILL PRESS DOWN TO A MAXIMUM OF JUST UNDER 4MM WITH A MICROMETER IN THE WAY SHOWN.
